Less than 3 weeks to go

Easter has almost come and gone, it's ANZAC day and good friday. Pip and I just returned from the Burrum heads service for the soldiers. We are having a mini break staying with mum and Nev, before the big trip.

We are out of our home and have been for a few weeks. Putting it on the rental market well in time to have it rented before we leave. The last couple of months have been busy with packing up the house and getting the car and van ready that we haven't really had time to appreciate the great journey we are about to start embark on.  Pips home school application is all ready to post and she is now looking forward to getting on the road.

We bought our van about 20 months ago, in anticipation we would use it as a home on the road. It was a hard decision as to what we should buy as everything seemed to have a compromise. We had a wind up camper (albeit a 1974 Golf)  for about 18 months prior to buying this one and had originally thought a full van would be a better alternative. after much deliberation over the pros and cons of a full van verses a wind up camper we arrived at the windup and bought ourselves a Gold stream storm. We compromised the convenience of the easy set up of a full van for the room and compact tow of the wind up. Will this be the right decision? I guess we will find out soon! perhaps as our friends have suggested we might pull out in a windup and pull back in 18 months with a full van.

We also decide to go with our old (2000 modle) Jeep. We spent a bit of money on new bits and pieces getting her ready for the long haul and we are still a bit unsure if that too was the right decision but..... again we pull out in a Jeep and maybe pull in with a Toyota. Mike said there are a lot of Toyotas on the road Lis that must mean something... I say there are a lot of Jaycos on the road too and we chose not to have one of them... No offense to u Jayco owners hahahahah.

so there you have it one Jeep, one Gold-steam, one kid and two dreamers ready or not here we come!!!!
